Model Fai wearing WONA Concept bridal jumpsuit in Marrakech

Amanjena — Marrakech

Marrakech is a city where light, color and architecture seem to speak the same language. Terracotta walls, quiet courtyards and long shadowed arcades create a rhythm that feels both ancient and timeless.

This series was photographed by Maïlys Fortune, with whom I regularly collaborate through our shared wedding photography work. Our projects often grow from the same curiosity: exploring places where fashion, architecture and atmosphere naturally come together.

Featuring model Fai wearing a striking bridal jumpsuit by WONÁ Concept, the images play with the warm palette of Marrakech — burnt orange, soft stone and deep shadows — echoing the sculptural lines of the city’s architecture.

Some of these moments unfolded around the serene setting of Amanjena, whose refined geometry and quiet elegance embody the spirit of Marrakech in its most timeless form. Between arches, textures and shifting desert light, the series becomes a dialogue between contemporary bridal design and the poetic landscape that surrounds the city.

ABOUT the Author

I’m Gregory Batardon
Former dancer
Dance photographer

I was born in Geneva in 1971 and studied visual arts at the Collège de Genève while pursuing intensive dance training at the École de Danse de Genève.

In 2010, I stepped away from the stage to dedicate myself to dance photography.
Today, I work with leading ballet companies, contemporary dance institutions, junior companies, and schools, as well as on personal studio projects. I also photograph dancers for professional portfolios, where I draw on my experience as a dancer to guide them beyond the pose and bring out their best.
